UV Clarifiers and Ultraviolet Sterilizers

Ultraviolet sterilizers, or UV Clarifiers as thery are also known, work by passing pond algae water close to an ultraviolet lamp that breaks down pond algae cells. Ultraviolet sterilizers are extremely effective when used correctly and are the most popular form of long-term pond algae preventative and Koi pond maintenance. Water passing through the UV Clarifier unit should be as clean as possible and will ideally have been passed through a koi pond filter first. Prefiltering the water before subjecting it to UV Clarifier light achieves two things. First, the pond algae is less likely to be obscured from the UV Clarifier light by clumps of particulate and plant matter. The 'kill rate' will therefore be far higher than if the UV Clarifier has to penetrate less clear water. Secondly, non-filtered water may cause the UV to clog and will greatly increase the time you have to spend on pond cleaning and Koi pond maintenance.

Ultraviolet clarifiers eliminate green water!
